Today more than ever, people are choosing to pre-plan or prepay for their own funeral arrangements. Such planning helps to prevent the surviving family members from having to make arrangements on short notice, reduces emotional strain and helps to ensure that the wishes of the deceased will be respected. A carefully pre-planned funeral service can also be comforting to your family members. In addition, it gives them peace of mind to know that they have acted in accordance with your wishes. At Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel we offer two forms of pre-arranged funeral plans. The first is to simply provide vital statistical information and your funeral requests to us. We would record your wishes and keep this on file at our office. There is no charge for this type of arrangement and your estate or next-of-kin would be responsible for the costs at the time of need.

The second option is to complete a pre-arrangement funeral as above and then pre-fund the expenses. By pre-funding the expenses you will lock in today’s costs and guarantee these costs at any future date. Funds for this type of arrangement are placed into an insurance policy and the funeral home guarantees to provide services for the funds that are in the policy in the future. You may pay the entire amount of the policy all at once, or you can make payments over a period of time.
