It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa on April 30, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Born September 11, 1921 in Regina, Saskatchewan. He worked in the automotive industry and retired from Vulcan Automotive after many years. He was active in his Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Cross Council 5423. He was predeceased by his brother Clifford in WWII, his loving wife Eleanor in 2007 and his son Clifford in 1986. He is survived by sons Richard (Dick), Ken; daughters-in-law Louise, and Nancy. Grandchildren Colleen (Greg), Calvin (Kim), Mike (Claire), Dallas (Kelsey), and Tyler (Katie), Mandy, Louise, Chantelle, Cassandra, Christopher, Clifford; great grandchildren Crystal, Corissa, Caylley, Catrina, Jayden, Sierra, Max, Kenzie, Tiffany, and Krista. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 pm Thursday, May 3 at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Ave. in Burnaby, BC where Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, May 4. Sandy passed away peacefully at the age of 70 years. She is survived by her loving husband Jeremy, many nieces, nephews, and friends. After a long hard battle with pulmonary fibrosis our beloved mother and nonna, Antonina passed away after celebrating her 79th birthday and is now resting in peace. She was born in Celano, L’Aquila, Italy. Predeceased by her husband Dante in 2005. Survived by her loving children Maria (Rino), America (John) and Angelo (Jeanette), grandchildren Anthony (Tiffany), Antonella, Joey, Nicholas and Alexandra and great grandchild Daniel. When a heart stops are you gone? John’s heart stopped. He is not gone. He is in the hearts of our 5 boys. Very rarely are we blessed with a truly good soul. Our family was. John was one of these souls. We will mourn greatly our loss, we were blessed to have had him. John’s greatest pride was his 5 sons, Nicholas, Alexander, Lucas, John-Taylor and Jack. These boys have lost an amazing father but watched a warrior fight to stay with them. I have lost my soul mate until we meet again. Our family will honour his memory and his strength by living out our lives with happiness and grace. John is survived by his wife Wendy and 5 sons. Predeceased by his father Ferdinando. Born February 12, 1922 in Vancouver, BC, Jack passed away peacefully at Burnaby General Hospital in the Palliative Care Unit on Saturday April 14, 2012, shortly after midnight. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, his sons Dana (Lynne), Dave (Ellen), Jim (Lisa) and John (Terri). He was a loving grandfather to Colin (Sara), Brandee (Mark) and Derek (Jaime) and great grandfather to Luc, Lauren and Lucas.
Jack’s sincere and friendly manner, easy smile and need to help others touched many within the North Burnaby community and beyond. He sincerely loved people and forged life-long friendships with neighbours, local shopkeepers, restaurant staff and former students at Burnaby Heights Junior and Alpha Secondary schools.
