Giovanni Repole
Born January 27, 1940 in Altilia, Cosenza, Italy passed away December 2, 2011 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver surrounded by his loving family. Giovanni is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Sisina; children Teresa (Claudio), Joe (Maria), Dave (Celeste) and Romina (Mario); grandchildren Cassandra, Giovanni, Samantha, Selicia and Vienna; brothers and sisters Carmelo (Olga), Esterina (Joe), Mike (Rose), Stano (Helen), Vanda (Roberto), Dave and Julio (Anna) and many nieces, nephews and friends here and in Italy. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan Street, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com.

To my zio,
I am so sorry I could not be there to say goodbye, before you passed I was on my way to the hospital a week before to see you and my truck broke down on the coquihalla. Day before I was to be there you passed away. I loved my uncle more than people know, I wish I had been there more in the past years but I wasnt and now it hurts more than ever.
Growing up Zio was like a second dad to me, I wish I could remember more but its hard> I know I used to sit and speak in italian only with him till i was about 6. I didnt even speak english which thinking back now was kinda funny trying to hear myself what I sounded like! But zio was a great man, a great dad and a great uncle. All my cousins he is so proud about, his children I know will mourn his loss as will I for a long time to come…..Rest in Peace Zio, you lived a great life and the suffering has come to a end. Only to live now watching us from up in heaven, I will make you proud to be my uncle…
