GATTO, Oliva Elda (nee Masaro) Oliva, born April 8, 1922 in Caselle D’Altivole, Treviso, Italy, passed away peacefully September 29, 2011 in Vancouver, B.C. She is predeceased by her husband Gilberto, son Sergio, sisters Zaffira and Gina and brother Angelo. She is survived by her loving family, children Gabriele, Lorraine (Walter) Wolff, Gino and Bruno (Jan), grandchildren Randy (Janine), Anthony (Nicky), Michelle (Marco), Stephanie (Tim), Tania (Felipe), Daniel, Gina-Lee and Brandon, 4 great-grandchildren, brother Mateo (Cesira) and sister Suora Maria Masaro, relatives and friends in Canada and Italy. Special thank-you to the staff at Renfrew Care Centre for their compassionate care. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C. where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby, B.C.

Emilio Marciano, beloved son of Antonio and Katrina Marciano, brother to Alissia Marciano, grandson to Billie Hennesey and Concetta Marciano, uncle/Godfather to be of Alissia and Rick Jarjoura’s soon to be born son, cousin to Mark and Kristen Ridgeway and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins in Europe and the United States. He will be remembered by all who knew him, for his generous heart, his sense of adventure and his ability to light up a room. Philippe’s unparalleled sense of humor could captivate an entire room. He was truly a special soul that everyone in his presence felt safe and loved. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at St. Francis of Assisi Church 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver, B.C. Canada V5L 2N8. Nicola (Nick) DiStefano passed away peacefully on Sept 20, 2011 at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his loving family, wife Gina, daughters Maria (Terry), Julie(John) and son Armand (Diane), grandchildren Sandra(Joe), Stephen, Christopher(Jaki), Eric, Matthew, Jessica and Melissa, and close cousins Ermando and Guido. As well as many relatives in Isola del Gran Sasso in Italy where Nick was born. A Special thank you to Drs Zypchen, Neville and the haematology unit, Winnie and staff at VGH, Harry, Jennifer, for getting the family through this difficult time. Endless thanks to those who give their time to donate blood that gave us more time with our husband, dad and nonno.
