It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Adriana Funaro (nee Fasciana). Adriana died at the age of 44 on February 21, 2011 after a courageous and dignified battle with leukemia.
Leukemia may have claimed her life, but it by no means defined Adriana.
Adriana was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a doting daughter, a supportive sister, a caring niece, a fun-loving cousin and a remarkable friend. Adriana grew up in Vancouver with her parents Guido and Filippa and her older brother Gaetano (Guy). She married Charles and had a loving and fulfilling 16 year marriage. Together, Adriana and Charles raised two amazing daughters, Daniela and Claudia. Her daughters meant the world to her.
Adriana was part of a large, loving family which included her in-laws Guiseppe and Joan, brother-in-law Jonathan, sisters-in-law Tracy, Maria and Joanna, nieces, Stephanie and Ava and nephew Brandon, and the many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews living here and abroad.
Adriana will always be remembered for her warmth, sincerity, generosity, beauty, wit and infectious smile. Adriana loved being with her family and friends, and everyone loved being with Adriana.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Doctors, especially Dr. Sheperd and the extraordinary nurses at the Leukemia/BMT Program at Vancouver General Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. Helen’s Church 3860 Triumph Street in Burnaby.
A donation in Adriana’s memory may be made to www.worldclasshealthcare.ca
We will continue to be inspired by your strength and courage. We have all been blessed by having you in our lives. We love you and we miss you Mom.
