Cornelius “Ken” Timmermans

The Timmermans Family is sad to announce the passing of Ken Timmermans beloved son, brother, father and grandfather.
Ken was born May 13th 1949, in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Ken is survived by his mother Catharina ;brothers Piet, Hans,Donald and Jerry; sisters Margrete and Carolyn,Maureen Timmermans; daughters Aimee and Erin; grandchildren Tyler, Ryan, Amber and Isaac; nieces, nephews, cousins and second cousins. Ken lived in Burnaby New West, where he made many friends through Church. Ken was a devoted Christian, loved his coffee and donuts, loved a cold glass of coke, and enjoyed wathching wrestling with his grandchildren. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 17th from 1-4 p.m. at the New Westminster Christian Reform Church 8255-13th Ave, Burnaby.

George William Pozderka

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George William Pozderka on July 11th, 2010 at the age of 80.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years Beverley, daughter Lee Anne (Dennis), his two grandchildren Sienna and Kristina; sister Mary (Lui); family and friends in B.C., Toronto and Budapest, Hungary. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church 525 S. Slocan Street, Vancouver.  Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Burnaby.  The family wishes to express profound gratitude to George’s doctors and the wonderful nurses and staff at CrossRoads Hospice.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CrossRoads Hospice Society.  Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com

Margherita (Rita) Prevedello nee Vettoruzzo

February 22, 1937 – July 4, 2010

Born in Mussolente, Vicenza, Italy, Rita a loving woman of great faith, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  God has taken her away from her suffering and she is joining our Lord to live in eternal peace.  Rita will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years Girolamo “Memi”, son Maurice (Teresa), daughter Lorraine (Gary) and grandchildren Victor, Lucas, Nicolas and Tony.  She will be greatly missed by many relatives in Italy, sisters Assunta and Giuseppina and several nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law both locally and in Italy.  Rita has many close friends that love her, she was a caring, gentle person, incredibly organized that loved her family above all else.  Our family would like to thank the staff at St. Michael’s Hospice in Burnaby.  Public visitation will be held Thursday, July 8th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. from Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby.  Msgr. B. Rossi celebrant. Funeral Mass on Friday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish 2025 Napier St. Vancouver.  Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, South Mausoleum, Burnaby, BC.  In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer Foundation will be much appreciated, envelopes will be available at the Funeral Mass.

Alice Joyce (Joy) Middleton

July 2, 2010

Born April 28, 1913 and passed away on June 29th 2010 at the age of 97. Predeceased by her daughter Gail Lloyd in 2003, and her Husband Bob in 2008. Her grandson Michael Lloyd and her friends at Shannon Oaks and Brock Fahrni will miss her. A special thanks to the staff at Brock Fahrni, especially the 3rd floor. There will be no service as per her request. She will be reunited with Bob once again.

Born August 15, 1925 in Crikvenica, Croatia passed away June 30, 2010.  Mario was predeceased by his parents Tom and Lojza and his brother Tom. He is survived by his loving family, sisters Danica Seifert (Adam) and Margaret Carr (Marijo); sister-in-law Marlene Car; nieces and nephews Mario, Marian, Lorraine, Michele and Paul and great nieces and nephews and many relatives in Croatia. Mario was a long time resident of the Royal City Manor and the family would like to thank all of the staff for their wonderful care during his stay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 330 Royal Ave., New Westminster. Interment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations to B.C. Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
