October 18, 1932 – February 3, 2010

Our devoted Husband, Dad and Nonno passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side. He was born in Onigo di Piave, Treviso, Italy and lived the past 54 years in Vancouver, BC. He is survived by his wife of 48 years Giuseppina, his daughters Laura (David) and Lisa, his precious grandsons Ryan and Justin, brother Antonio (Italy), sister Isabella (Switzerland), and numerous friends and relatives. A special thank you to Dr. Lorenzon for her unending support and friendship over the years. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, February 6 at Corpus Christi Church, 6350 Nanaimo Street. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

February 17, 1917 – February 01, 2010
Anna Garcea, born in Albi, Italy, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her husband Nick and son Silvano. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters Tonina (Emilio) and Anna Maria, sons Bruno (Lorill) and Aurelio (Beata), daughter-in-law Arlene, grandchildren Alana, Robert, Reece, Gitana and Cassandra and great grandchildren Bianca, Angelo and Striker. Special thanks to the loving staff at St. Michael’s Hospice. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5th. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park (Abbey Mausoleum), Burnaby, B.C. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Hospice or the B.C. Cancer Society. Filomena DiStasio

DiStasio, Filomena, 51, passed away surrounded by her family on January 30th, 2010. She is survived by her loving parents, Costantino and Maria DiStasio; her brother Roberto, his wife Carrie and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Filomena had a love of learning and after graduating from UBC she went on to work in food and nutritional services spending the last 13 yrs with the VSB. She was passionate about her work, family and would always stand up for what she believed in. Most recently, Filomena showed incredible strength, determination and grace in her struggle against cancer. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, February 4th at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, 555 Slocan St., Vancouver where the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 5th.
