I am so sad to hear that Roy has passed :( I remember being 5yrs old and picking flowers for Thelma from their garden and following Roy around asking questions :) My grandparents always lived on the East coast, but Roy and Thelma lived right next door and always welcomed me over. I will miss them both dearly. I will always remember the time I shared with both of them, They were both very good people :)

Roy was a great neighbour. He always walked down to our house to make sure I was treating HIS raspberries with the respect and care they deserved, and when they were ready he would come and help himself to a small bagful. He always had a smile for everyone and a positive attitude no matter what the circumstances. Our condolences to his family.

Uncle Roy was such a special man. I remember all the wonderful holidays we shared with many other members of our family when we were growing up! He loved to dance and was wonderful at it.
He was also very proud of his Welsh roots and I will miss spending time with him sharing our family histories.
And you are with Auntie Thelma once again. You were well loved, Uncle Roy. And adored.
Lovingly,
Bonnie (Hughes) Joerger

First met Roy at the John B Pub at the retired employees of Canfor lunches held first Monday of each month. Such a nice man, always enjoyed taking to him and listening to his stories. I will miss him as will all the Monday lunch group.

It is with great sadness I say goodbye to you Uncle Roy. I know you are in a better place with Auntie Thelma and the rest of the family BUT I will still miss you. As Uncles went YOU WERE THE BEST! I have wonderful memories of fishing with you at Bowen Island and hiking the hills. Rest in Peace Uncle Roy and you will always be in my thoughts.

Hello,
So sorry to read about Roy's passing. Missed him at our annual Christmas lunch - held on Dec 2nd this year at the V G Club - where it has been held for many years. He was so 'vibrant' and driving his own car just last December at this luncheon.

My name is Dennis Anderson and I worked in a five person office with Roy from summer of 1957 to end of year in 1959 - 2 1/2 years. I continued to work at the Canfor P. V. mill office for another 2 1/2 years and then was transferred to Calgary - but always would see Roy on my trips back to B.C. as I remained with the Canfor organization for almost 40 years.

I would apprec knowing where the Sat Jan 9th gathering is to take place at as I know there will be quite a few of us from Canfor that would very much wish to be there and I will advise them accordingly.

With respect,
 Dennis Anderson - dennisanderson@shaw.ca phone 604 582 9215.

Our heartfelt condolences to the family of a wonderful man. As a customer/friend of our business for over 20 years - we grew to know Thelma and Roy and treasured the stories that they shared. We will miss his visits as he walked around south Burnaby to keep "in Shape". Stopping in to say hi and having a glass of water with us. Roy was a very special man and will be missed terribly.
