Ida Vendrasco (nee Battagin)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ida on December 28, 2009 at Burnaby Hospital. She was born on April 29, 1923 in San Zenone degli Ezzelini, Italy. She left Italy on December 26, 1963 and immigrated to Canada in 1964 with her children in tow to unite with her husband who had arrived 5 years previously. Predeceased by her husband, Mario. Ida is survived by her loving children, Vittorio (Noris), Antonia (Leo), Valerio (Patty), Bruno (Maria), Sonia (Jim) and Manuela (Livio). She also leaves behind a legacy of 14 grandchildren, Jason (Nicole), Derek, David (Laura), Steve (Nancy), Jamie (Clara), Daniela, Michael, Stephanie, Jeremy (Tina), Adam, Bryan, Tanya, Brianna and Tyson; 8 great grandchildren Xavier, Taylor, Alexa, Dillan, Grace, Mattaus, Monica and Giovonni. Ida will be remembered for her compassion and generosity. She loved and respected everyone who loved and respected her in return. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby. Entombment to follow at the Abbey, Ocean View Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation #300 – 1090 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C.
