Carmela Pafundi

Born March 23, 1930 in Pietragalla, Italy passed away peacefully on October 12, 2009 at Vancouver General Hospital.  Carmela is predeceased by Rocco, her husband of over fifty-five years.  She is survived by her daughter, Lidia, her son-in-law Enrico, granddaughters, Elisa and Diana, sister Donna and her family, and relatives in Italy. 

Carmela will always be remembered for her generosity, kindness and dedication to her family. Even through illness she remained strong and devoted her time and energy to her family and friends. She was passionate about cooking and was happiest when those around her were enjoying the Italian food she made.  With her warm and outgoing nature, she made friends everywhere she went and will be greatly missed by all of them. Nonna, we will always hold dear to our hearts your lively spirit, words of encouragement and unconditional love.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 16, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 2025 Napier Street, Vancouver.  Entombment to follow at the Abbey Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.  On-line condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com.

    Dear Lidia, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. Its been hard for you I know, but she is now at rest and out of her pain. I’m always around if you need a hug or to talk. Tell the girls to remember the good times and it makes the pain easier. My condolences to your family.
