Susan Linda (nee Fuller) Forgie
June 13, 2009
November 1, 1949 – June 7, 2009 I’ve lost my 9 year battle with cancer and regret leaving this world. I am predeceased by my father, Albert Fuller, and in-laws, Bill and Joyce Forgie, and survived by so many wonderful friends and family. I’ll so miss Geoff, my husband of 39 years, my other half, my soul mate. I’ll miss the regular chats with my dear mother, Linda Fuller, and my loving and compassionate sister, Valerie Fuller. Deeply missed will be my second “sister” and life long friend, Donna Scott. I shall also miss BS and beer with my sister-in-law Elaine, and my good buddy Dave, the loving support and friendship of my high school girlfriends the “Divas”, and being able to see my nephew Nathan grow to be a fine man. There are also so many good friends I’ll miss from my 28 years at BC Employment Standards Branch, in particular my special friend Lorna. I was born in Vancouver and lived and worked most of my life in Burnaby. I loved so much in life, especially learning from childhood through my years at UBC to the present. Whether it was my passion for fossils, Roman history or organic gardening, just learning for its own sake was my real treasure and fulfillment. I don’t believe in Heaven, but rather wish I did. My dogs would be waiting there for me, big Lab-tails thumping and radiating devotion as they did in life. I would be able to walk again and I’d fill my iPod with Leonard Cohen and Etta James and the dogs and I would spend our days hiking in the wildflower meadows waiting for you, Geoff, and all the other special people. But please, there’s no rush. Thanks to all the medical folk who have taken such good care of me, especially my friend and GP, Dr. Daniel Tong, and Drs. K. Savage, M. Al Mansour and Leslie Zypchen at BCCA. No Service; no flowers please. Any donation would be welcomed at the BC Cancer Foundation, Burnaby SPCA, or St. Michael’s Centre.
