March 29, 1927 – June 11, 2009 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother (Nana) and sister. Had she been a soldier at war she would have been awarded the Purple Heart for her extremely courageous battle the past few months. She was predeceased by her parents Steve and Marija, husband Len, brothers Bobby and Mike (Wawa). She is survived by her children Linda (Rick), Dan (Susan) and Rob, grandchildren Michael, David, Julia, Caroline, Troy and Michelle, brother Danny and sister-in-law Sheila, and many more family and friends. She was a life long east Vancouver resident and started working at age 15 to help provide for her family. She was a tireless worker and took great pride in working in the ladies wear department at Woodwards downtown for 19 years. She enjoyed her many trips to Reno with her friends and liked playing bingo. There is probably not a family member that doesn’t have a something knitted by her. She will be remembered for her generosity and unconditional love for her children. She will be forever loved, appreciated and never forgotten. A service for Mom and Wawa will be at 1:30 pm, Friday June 19 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC.
