Dear Chuck and Penny,

We were so sorry to read that Chuck’s mom has passed away. It’s always hard
to loose someone close to us, but it’s especially hard to loose a parent. At
this sad time, we are thinking of you both. We hope that time will help ease
the pain you feel and that you will take comfort in the memories of all the
good times you shared with Chuck’s mom.

My sincere sympathy for your loss of Auntie Jean. She was such a lovely lady and I will always have fond memories of her.

I send my regrets for the funeral as I am unable to get the time from my job to attend but Dad will be there.

We are so sorry for your loss of our sweet Aunt Jean. What a treasure she has been to so many. We can all be assured that she is celebrating with Jesus today. We are sorry we won’t be able to come down again this week for the memorial service but our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I remember when we hung out on Randy’s room downstairs where the closet was opened up into I think Dave’s old room to reveal a great hang out place with a David Bowie lightening bolt on one wall and everyone’s signature on another. Your mom would pop down once and a while to offer a drink or snacks, and was always so nice to talk to. Fast forward from age 16 to 26, I had a garage sale at my place on Georgia St. (behind Kensington mall) and both your parents arrived to look at the wares and your mom was both surprised and happy to see me again, and even gave me a hug a peck on the cheek.

I’m so sorry for your loss and if you look further down on this same web site you will see that I KNOW how it feels.

I told both Jim Osmon and David Klassen of this who I still see regularly which is now on near 40 years and counting.

We too are getting old…….. almost 50, all the best, Brian Gilliatt

I would like to offer my condolences to Charlie on the loss of Jean and recall when they used to visit my parents over 30 years ago.
My own Dad passed away last year at the age of 94 but he often spoke to me of his memories of Charlie and his wife.
