Dorothy Janet (nee Nimeth) Dumka

 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Dorothy on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the age of 69 years. Predeceased by her father Ernest in 1982 and her mother Mary in 2008. Lovingly remembered by her family; daughter Patricia (Christopher) Foley, son Jeffrey, grandchildren Caleb and Grace, twin sister Joan Kijanka, brother James (Christine) Nimeth, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Dorothy was noted for her kindness and generosity to all who knew her. The family wish to thank the staff at the VGH Palliative Care team for their support. Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or the BC Children’s Hospital. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com

    Please accept my deepest sympathies. I could not believe it when i heard the news. It is a great loss. My prayers are with you that may god give you the strenght to bear this great loss and also, pray that Dorothy’s soul may rest in eternal peace. Amen.

    Dorothy used to come to Parkcrest Plaza Br to help us out when we were short staffed. We became very good friends and she made sure she come in to say hello when in the area. She will be missed dearly.

    To Jeffrey, Trisha, Leonard, Joan, and the rest of your family….we are so sorry to hear of the loss of this wonderful woman. I have such amazing, fond memories of all the years we spent in Dorothy’s kitchen. She was beautiful person and my teenage years are full of memories of her. I can only try to imagine how much she will be missed. I hope that time heals your loss even just a tiny bit. My prayers are with you all.
