The picture you chose is perfect – always smiling and the outrageous earrings – nobody had an earring collection like Dot! She talked me into being treasurer of the Computer Club at Confederation Centre after her doing it for about 10 years I think – now I’ve been stuck with it for 7 years. Will really miss her….Joy.
I worked for Cove Warehouses for several years and became very fond of Dot. We had great phone conversations and Mr. Humphrey and I would meet Dot for lunch at times. She had an amazing sense of humour and was always cheerful. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet her.
I just wanted to let you know what a great person I thought she was and I am thinking of you all.
Sincerely, Barb Sidelman
I’d like to send my sincere condolences to Dot’s family and friends. I worked at Confederation Centre for nearly fifteen years and Dot was one of the first members I met. I’ll always remember how supportive and welcoming she was – leading those first bus trips and special events wasn’t nearly so nerve-wracking when she was along! What a vibrant woman! Whenever she’d come to the front desk, we all knew we were in for at least a giggle. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to work and laugh with her; she has enriched my life.
Sincerely,
Nicola Fox
Dot was always the life of any party!! if she was in a room, her infectious laughter could be heard above everything else going on. Generous in spirit, generous in life; she always left you feeling warm and loved. Her energy, humour, love and friendship will be sorely missed.
Hi Tim
I felt so sad to hear about the passing of your Mom.
She was a very special one.
My thoughts will be with you on Thursday.
Barb
Brian, Brenda, and Tim,
Dot and I met in the Fall of 1974 when we both came to Dr. Gray’s. We were not only co-workers but became good friends. We worked together, laughed alot and got into mischief more than once or twice. She became “Nurse Ratchit” for me on more than one occasion. After I left in 2000, we would talk on the phone, meet once in awhile for lunch when she was in the Respiratory Clinic at LGH or visiting Dr. Mainra. The last couple of years, the telephone was our way of commuting. She was a good friend, always ready with a smile and a laugh. She will be missed.
Lynners (Tim’s nickname for me)
I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Dot. She was a vibrant person with a big heart and a big laugh. She was such a pleasure to spend time with and will be missed very much.
Dot was a very special person. Her love of life and people radiated from her to those around her. Her happy presence will be missed by the many people she has been associated with in work and at play.
