PENNEWAY Jean Virginia Born May 31, 1909 in Revelstoke BC, passed away suddenly and peacefully with her loving family by her side on Tuesday October 28, 2008. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Philip and her son Joseph. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her daughter Jeanette Ewart (Frank), sons Kenneth and Richard (Gail), daughter-in-law Susan Pennimpede, grandchildren Marie, Larry, Darryl (Jody), David, Robert, Philip and Kathryn and great-grandchildren Cody, Cassidy, Kyleigh and Teagan and by her brother Gino Sirianni and family in Kamloops. For almost 100 years she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend and cherished matriarch of the extended Penneway family. Although small in stature her unquestionable strength, intelligence and love of God and family served as a model for all those who knew her. True to her nature she was busy taking care of business right to the end. Our love goes with her. Prayers will be offered on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 7:00 pm at Saint Francis of Assisi Parish (2025 Napier Street, Vancouver). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 12:30 pm. A reception and celebration of Jean’s life will follow in the church hall. MEROLA Anna born June 17, 1926 in Cuccaro Vetere, Salerno, Italy passed away in Vancouver on October 31, 2008. Anna is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Raffaele; son Tony (Linda); grandchildren Raffael and Roberto; brothers and sisters Antonia, Bernardo, Teresa, Lorenzo, Lidia and Angelina. She was predeceased by sister Rosina and brothers Modesto and Carmine. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan St. Vancouver where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Entombment, Ocean View Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Colleran – John Born December 10, 1931 in Fremantle, Western Australia passed away October 30, 2008 in Burnaby, B.C. Survived by his loving family, wife of 42 years Elaine; 6 children, Raymond (Carmen), Paul (Vanessa), Lisa Morandin (Roy), Susan Kast (Nic), Christine Watson (Spencer) and Patrick; 10 grandchildren who brought him so much pleasure, also his sister Ruth Croll, brother Bob and their families all in Australia. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 7455 – 10th Ave., Burnaby where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey. HOUSTON Matthew Matthew was born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 10, 1926. He served in the British Army in WW2. He died on October 29, 2008 with Jessie his wife of 59 years by his side. He also leaves his children Rosina (Darryl) and Walter; his grandchildren Sean (Susan), Stephanie (Scott), Matthew and Melanie (James) and his 3 great-granddaughters Jennifer, Allison and Kathleen. No service as requested.
