I’m so sad to hear through the Finning and Leavitt grapevine that Rick had passed.
I worked with him at Finning on Great Northern Way and at Leavitt’s in Port Coquitlam. Mostly always a great guy to work with, ( I was a smoking quitter) we used to have some long talks about our bad habits.:-)
Shared wine with him, great guy, always had some good stories for the lunch room. He will sorely missed by all who knew him.
Our thoughts and prayers with you all.

Dear Frank, Julie & Family:
We are simply mortified to hear of your father’s passing, and even more so that we didn’t find out in time to attend the prayer service. We offer you our deepest heart-felt condolences. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers. Having been through it, we understand what you are going through. Once the grief passes, you will remember the fond and best memories with your dad, which is a gift and a legacy that he left you. Again, our condolences and apologies for missing the prayers.

I met Rick in 1969 when I started at Finning. We were on nite shift together and got into plotting things with the other lads such as trying to fill the box of a 769 dump truck with empty beer bottles and the usual shop pranks. We shared some fun times and some not so fun times.I would often see him at Hats Off Days in the Heights and we would talk of the old days and ‘ whatever happened to old what’s his name? ‘.
A good guy. I will miss him.
