Edgar A. Secord

Nov 27th 1927 – Sept 26th 2008 Born in Athabasca Alberta where he attended and finished highschool. He then came to B.C. to join up with his three older brothers in the fishing industry. Edgar was predeceased by the love of his life and forty-year partner Agnes McLoughlin, sisters Dorothy Secord and Ella Secord, brothers Cartwright Secord and Jack Secord. Left to mourn Edgar’s passing are his brothers Denver Secord (Iris) and Richard Secord (Lupita), and sister-in-law Mrs. Jack Secord (Helen). Nieces include Carol DePedrina (Joe), Cindy Secord (Ross), and Diane Secord-Gasparetto (Damian). Nephews include Johnie Secord, David Secord (Sharon), Bobie Secord (Pam), Jeffery Secord (Louveign) and Jim Secord and all their children. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at The Salvation Army Rotary Hospice House in Richmond for their wonderful care during Edgar’s last days. Funeral service will be held on Thursday October 2nd at 10:00am at St. Paul’s Church at 8251 St. Albans Road in Richmond B.C.

HALISKY Walter Albert (Wally) January 19, 1937 – September 21, 2008 Wally’s life journey came to an end after a lengthy battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home in the loving presence of his family. Predeceased by his father Thomas, mother Nancy. Wally is survived by his devoted wife Dolores, his children; Darryl (Janet), Carolyn (Scott), grandchildren; Ashley and Laura. He will be lovingly remembered by his brothers; Dave (Bev), Tim (Chantel), sisters; Marg, Lois, Jennifer, Linda (Doug). We miss him already. Private service will be held. In lieu of flowers, if you so wish, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated
Dina Taddei (nee Friscioni-Morlacci)

It is with tremendous sorrow that we announce the passing of Dina on September 15th, 2008. Dina is survived by her husband, Anthony and daughters Melissa and Alessandra, and her parents, Rosina and Mario. She also leaves behind her mother and father-in-law Domenica and Giuseppe Taddei, brother-in-law Victor (Ornella) Larissa and Adrian; uncles, aunts and cousins, colleagues and friends in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy. Dina was born in the quiet hilltop village of Villa Di Mezzo, Abruzzo, Italy. In 1969, Dina and Rosina immigrated to Canada to start a new life. At Simon Fraser University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in French and teaching certificate and Masters of Arts in Teaching with distinction. She taught French and Spanish at Abbotsford Senior Secondary School and served as International Baccalaureate languages program coordinator and Linguistics department head for many years. She joined School District 43 (Coquitlam) in 1990 where she taught French at Port Moody Senior Secondary and Banting Middle School, and later transferred to Centennial High School to teach Spanish. Dina was well respected by her students, fellow teachers and administrators. She displayed passion in everything she undertook. Her greatest joy was nurturing Melissa and Alessandra and watching them mature into fine young ladies. The family would like to thank Dr. D. Stuart and all the health care staff that cared for Dina during her illness.

Prayers will be offered Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. from St. Michael’s Parish 9387 Holmes Street, Burnaby, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 19 at 1:00 pm.
Entombment
Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dina Taddei Memorial Fund established at Simon Fraser University.
Feliks Kosi

KOSI Feliks Born July 24, 1944 in Zerovinci, Starjerska, Slovenia, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2008, after a short battle with Cancer. Predeceased by his father, Feliks, mother, Otilija, and brother, Janko. He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Wanita (Lorenzo), son, Felix Jr. (Emma), grandchildren, Daniella. Martina and Antony, brother, Marjan (Marjana), sister in Slovenia, Tilcka, brother in Germany, Herman (Lydia), his nieces and nephews, and many more relatives and friends throughout Canada and Slovenia.
Funeral Service
Prayers and Eulogy will be held on September 16, 2008, 7:00 pm, Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 3105 E. 1st Avenue, Vancouver, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on September 17, 2008, 10:00 am.
Interment
Interment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, in the Garden of Peace section.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the wonderful compassion and care given by Dr. Javer and the Nursing Staff at the Queen’s Park Hospice. GIANCOLA – Girolamo (Gerry) February 2, 1948 September 14, 2008 Father, Brother an amazing Uncle and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Lions Gate Hospital. Predeceased by his parents and survived by his devoted sister, brother in law, daughter and niece and nephews. Born in Goriano Sicoli, Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1968 were he made North Vancouver his new home. He was an avid gardener and took much pleasure in his vegetable garden and spectacular roses. Gerry was a hard worker that accomplished everything he set his mind to on his own. He was always determined to do things his way right to the very end. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and extended family both here in Canada, Italy and France. A special thank you to Dr. Randsalu, Dr. Haniak for all their excellent care and support over the years. An additional thanks to Dr. McCall, Dr. Malon and Dr. Byman and all the nursing staff and health care team that provided care and compassion for our uncle, brother and friend. Contributions can be made in his memory to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation.

We are sad to announce the passing of our Mother and Nonna, Domenica, on September 12, 2008 at the age of 75 years. She predeceased by her husband Michele. Domenica is survived by her loving children, Vincenzo (Sandi), Tina (Cam), Stefano (Natalie), Lida (Tom), grandchildren; Katrina and Brandon, her sister and brother. She also leaves many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church 525 S. Slocan Street, Vancouver. Fathers of St. Charles Celebrant.
