Sylvia Picone

PICONE Silvia Silvia was born in Montefredane, Avellino, Italy on March 8, 1931 and passed away peacefully from this life on June 14, 2008 into the arms of God. Beloved wife of Mario for 54 years, mother of Elsa Rubino, grandmother of Paul (Corrine) and Silvia, great-grandmother to Ava and Cleveland, sister to Antonio (Virgina) Freda and Antonietta (Joe) Zen and numerous relatives in Vancouver and Italy. Predeceased by her son-in-law; Franco Rubino, her beloved parents; Giuseppe and Margherita and brother; Angelo (Ida) Freda. Prayers will be offered on Tuesday, June 17th at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan Street, Vancouver, B.C. Mass of Christian Burial to follow on Wednesday, June 18th at 11:30 a.m. Entombment at Ocean View South Mausoleum. Family wish to extend special thanks to the Dr’s and nursing staff on 8 – A at St. Paul’s Hospital. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
