Donald Alexander Thrift

THRIFT – Donald, passed away at Cottage Hospice in Vancouver on May 23, 2008 aged 73 with friends at his side. Don will be missed greatly by all of us for his wonderful spirit, wide-ranging curiosity and knowledge, gentle humor and wisdom. His positive impact on our community and those whose lives he touched cannot be overstated. Don showed a deep, active concern for the planet and looked after the neighbourhood (and his beloved cats) with quiet care and grace. We are so fortunate to have known Don and his absence will be felt more than he could imagine. Our thanks to the staff and volunteers at Cottage Hospice and Palliative Care at Burnaby General for their care during the past weeks. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2008 at 10:00am at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby. Don will be laid to rest with his parents at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burnaby.
