January 25, 1930 – February 29, 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Ivan Pocrnic after a battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. Ivan was born in Kosa, Lika, Croatia, and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Luja, 2 daughters, Dragica “Caroline” and Ankica (Luka) Bozic, grandchildren, Mile (Stephanie) Bozic and Luja (Mike) Kovac. Also he leaves behind his sister, Mare Oreskovic, 2 nieces, Ana and Mandica, many other relatives in Croatia, B .C. and across Canada. Prayers will be offered at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5th at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 East 1st Ave., Vancouver, B.C. where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6th. Entombment to follow Ocean View South Mausoleum.

NICCOLI Pasqualino Passed away suddenly on February 24, 2008. Born in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Anna Maria, brothers Gabriele and Pietro. Survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Flora, sons Joe (Vetulia), Gabriel (Francesca), Mario, and by brother Tarcisio (Angelina); grandchildren Deborah (Brad) Johnson, Pat, Pascal, and Flora: great grandchildren Marisa and Rocco Johnson; also by his sister-in-law Maria in Italy, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces both in Canada and Italy. He was a kind and gentle soul who lived for his family and his work. In his retirement years he loved tending to his garden and reminiscing with friends in the shade of his plum and fig trees. Heartfelt thanks to Drs. Luigi Salvino, Susan Kwan, and C.P. Lau for their support and personal care, and to his favorites Tilly and Lucy at the pacemaker clinic at Burnaby Hospital. Prayers to be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 2025 Napier St., on Wednesday Feb. 27th at 7 p.m. followed by the funeral mass on Thursday, Feb. 28th at 10:30 a.m. with entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park (South Mausoleum). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be very much appreciated.
