Alexander McGillivary

MCGILLIVARY – Alexander “Mac,” the world’s greatest papa and grandpa, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2007 at Burnaby General Hospital with his family at his side. Born December 19, 1913 in New Aberdour in the County of Aberdeen, Scotland. Dad is predeceased by his wife Agnes of 64 years, who passed away two months earlier. He is also predeceased by his son John, in 1988. Dad is survived by his loving family; son, Roger; daughter, Sandra; grandchildren, Jim (Michelle), Lori Ann (Brian), Cameran, Jody, Christie (Greg), Sean (Tassleen), and Melissa; great grandchildren, Kyle and Zachary, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad worked for Oakalla Prison for 25 years, where he gained the respect of his peers and inmates. He was quite proud when he was named Mr. P.N.E. in 2006 and was featured in the paper and in the news. Dad was a long time resident of Burnaby and will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends. May his love, laughter, joy for life, and the twinkle in his eye be carried in the hearts of everyone’s life that he has touched. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Burnaby General Hospital, and extra special thanks to Dr. K. Harjee for the care he showed dad over the years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00pm at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 1600 Delta Avenue, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to War Amps “Champ Program,” 3688 Cordiale Drive, Vancouver, V3V-2P4.
