CROMPTON – Eleanor Jean born October 7, 1922, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2007. She is predeceased by her son Cliff. Eleanor is survived by her loving family, husband of 65 years, Robert, sons Dick (Nancy) and Ken, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Louise Pitre, Irene Hartman, Argie Hoffert, Winnie Love, her brother Lou (Rose) Perras and daughter-in-law Louise. Prayers will be offered on Friday, December 21, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. from Holy Cross Catholic Church 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, where the Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Hospital.

MCGILLIVARY – Alexander “Mac,” the world’s greatest papa and grandpa, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2007 at Burnaby General Hospital with his family at his side. Born December 19, 1913 in New Aberdour in the County of Aberdeen, Scotland. Dad is predeceased by his wife Agnes of 64 years, who passed away two months earlier. He is also predeceased by his son John, in 1988. Dad is survived by his loving family; son, Roger; daughter, Sandra; grandchildren, Jim (Michelle), Lori Ann (Brian), Cameran, Jody, Christie (Greg), Sean (Tassleen), and Melissa; great grandchildren, Kyle and Zachary, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad worked for Oakalla Prison for 25 years, where he gained the respect of his peers and inmates. He was quite proud when he was named Mr. P.N.E. in 2006 and was featured in the paper and in the news. Dad was a long time resident of Burnaby and will be greatly missed by his entire family and friends. May his love, laughter, joy for life, and the twinkle in his eye be carried in the hearts of everyone’s life that he has touched. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Burnaby General Hospital, and extra special thanks to Dr. K. Harjee for the care he showed dad over the years. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at 1:00pm at Brentwood Presbyterian Church, 1600 Delta Avenue, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to War Amps “Champ Program,” 3688 Cordiale Drive, Vancouver, V3V-2P4.

With great sadness our family announces the passing of our beloved mother and nonno. Maria of Burnaby, B.C. was born in Civitanova Del Sannio, Italy. Predeceased by her husband Giorgio in 1989. Survived by her loving children, daughters, Anna (Hilton) Lambert, Luisa (Jack) da Silva and Elena (Ray) Defazio, son; Dino (Claudia) Bettamin; grandchildren, Tasia, Alexa, Celeste, Jordan, Marcus, Evan, Daniela, Cristina, Bianca and Brianna, sister, Nancy; brother, Nicola and many other friends, family and relatives here in Canada and Italy. Her kind gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all those that she knew. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21st at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Abbey. With deep and great sorrow we announce the passing of our loving mother. Her husband Ettore passed away in 1978 and again she is by his side. The hearts full of sorrow are her children, Tony, Serafina, Frank and Anna Maria. Her daughter-in-laws Jackie and Kathie. Thank you Kathie for all the care and attention you have given Mom this past year during her difficult time. Her son-in-laws Kirk and Mark. Her many grandchildren Christina, Sandro, Erica who loved to cook with her Nonna, Anthony and his two beautiful children, (Mom’s great grandchildren) his wife Nicky, Shawn, Alicia, Stacy, Curtis and Kaitlyn. She has also left to mourn her sisters Immaculta, Stella of Winnipeg, Louisa of Italy and all of their children. One of Moms greatest joys was her beautiful garden and her wonderful neighbours and very close friends, Mark and Mary, Joe, Julia, Darcy, Sheila, Maria, Cookie and Nick, all of you loved and cared deeply for her and for this we love you all. These last couple of years Moms health was failing and her time came very quickly at the end. Thank you Dr. Zuldanardo for your care and attention and to the nurses at the Ridge Meadows hospital for giving our family time with our mother as she slipped away from us. Prayers will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 525 Slocan St., Vancouver where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Entombment, Ocean View Burial Park.
